New entrants, Accra Majestics Rugby League Club participated in it's first ever 9-aside tournament on 13th & 20th March 2022.
The club which was launched on July 10 2021 had previously participated in a touch Rugby League tournament which was organized in January this year.
Both Men and Youth participated in the tournament which had 6 other clubs participating (Skolars, Bulls, Pirates, Panthers, Tigers & African Warriors)
Due to circumstances beyond their control, the women's side couldn't participate.
The men unfortunately lost to Pirates and Tigers with an 8 - 0 score during the first and second rounds and lost to Tigers with a 13 - 4 score during the fourth round hence losing their chance of qualifying to the semi finals.
The Youth team (Firm Foundation Rugby League Academy) however made the club proud by winning their first match against Tigers (8-0) leading to their qualification to the finals.
Luck wasn't so much on their side as they lost to former 13s champions, African Warriors Sport Academy by 10 - 4.
Congratulations to African Warriors Sport Academy and Accra Panthers ladies team for winning the 2022 9s Championship.
